Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum

To whom it may concern,

The Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum supports bringing the story of Knut Haugland to new generations. Haugland's efforts during World War II, as a central figure in the resistance movement and in the heavy water sabotage at Vemork, have had great historical significance both nationally and internationally. In the postwar period, Knut Haugland also made decisive contributions to preserving and disseminating this knowledge for posterity, including through the establishment of museums such as the Kon-Tiki Museum and the Norwegian Resistance Museum. These institutions have been of great importance in making Norwegian wartime and contemporary history accessible to a broad audience, both in Norway and internationally. A feature film about Haugland's life and work could therefore contribute to increased knowledge and understanding of an important part of our shared history.
